Michelle Guilbeau reviewed Rockit Bar & Grill for examiner.com and said it is the perfect spot for a reasonably priced work lunch or dinner. It is located in the heart of the River North district. I would label this restaurant as a destination for an upscale/professional crowd.
From the decor to the atmosphere, food and beer selections Guilbeau had numerous accolades to attribute to her lunch at Rockit.
“Rockit Bar and Grill has the classic pub grub aptly marked as ‘Rockit Classics’ that you would expect at this awesome venue. Executive Chef Amanda Downing has also cleverly added healthy items to her creative menu marked as ‘RockFit’ that are definitely worth ordering,” Gulbeau said.
One dish that she loved was Rockits Tuna Poke, she absolutely loved it. ”
It is their version of marinated tuna cut into cubes/chunks served with avocado, macadamia nuts, hint of pickled jalapenos, and wonton chips. This is a very popular item on the menu. If you like tuna, this is for you,” Guilbeau said.
Guilbau also highly recommends the RockFit dishes she tried. “For the main course, my partner and I ordered the Pesto Crusted Salmon with farro risotto and the Crisp (Mediterranean) Sea Bass with couscous. Both of these menu items are labeled as ‘RockFit’ on their menu. I was pleased with the quality and portions of both the Sea Bass and Salmon… I wouldn’t hesitate to order either of these dishes in the future and highly recommend!!”
Overall, Guilbeau said Rockit is, “a very nice destination with a great atmosphere for lunch, dinner, after-hour cocktails, or on the weekends. I will definitely stop in next time I’m in the River North district.”
